Many digital artists wonder about how they can earn money with their creations. They debate about creating a shop on Etsy or taking part in artist alleys at conferences. However setting up a shop on Etsy takes time and a lot of work. Setting up a booth in a conference’s artist alley requires planning. What if there was an easy way to monetize your creations? Well there is and it is called Redbubble!

What is Redbubble? It is a platform where artists can easily create an online portfolio and upload images that are sold on various products from t-shirts to bags to stickers to pillows and more! With a few clicks you can upload your Vectornator creations and begin earning money from them!

We have compared Redbubble to other sites such as Zazzle, Society6, and the Threadless Artist Shops… and hands down Redbubble is our favorite.

The first cool factor is that Redbubble has a very easy upload process for new works. If you upload your Vectornator creation as a PNG at let’s say roughly 36 inches x 36 inches it will fit on all the products that Redbubble has available, even duvet covers! With other sites similar to Redbubble it is a hassle, as you have to change the dimenions or use their templates. Redbubble really made their upload process user friendly and intuitive.

A quick look at how easy it is to adjust your creations on Redbubble.

Another great feature that is uncommon on competitor sites is that Redbubble allows you to adjust your profit margin on each and every item! Not all sites allow this, so this is one feature that we really like. When setting the Mark Up or Profit %, we recommend you compare the final price to that of other artists using Redbubble. Setting too high could impede your sales, setting too low could lead to more sales, but less profit. The great thing is that you can always adjust this in your Redbubble dashboard.

Let’s say you created a Redbubble shop and you have uploaded a couple of images… you might wonder what is next? You have to decide if you want to be proactive or passive in the promotion of your Redbubble shop. If choose to be passive you may make a little money over time, but if decide to be proactive and promote your online shop you may see a reasonable amount of sales!

Redbubble also from time to time offers discount codes that members can use to promote their online shops! Thus, if you are proactive and take the time to share information on sales or discount codes via your social channels you might see larger profits coming in.

The great thing is that you do not have to worry about the production or shipments of your sold items! Redbubble notifies you when you made a sale.

It is always good to experiment with online shops if you want to monetize your creations. Determine which has the best products for your designs.

If you build a shop on Redbubble featuring your Vectornator designs, then make sure to share the link to your store with us! Members of the Vectornator team are always look for cool T-Shirts to wear featuring our favorite artists!
